Sistan and Baluchestan is Iran's second largest province after Kerman. Zahedan City is the capital of this province. The demographics of Zahedan's inhabitants are largely ethnic Baloch who speak the Balochi language and Sistanis. Sistan includes Zabol and the cities around it and Baluchestan encompasses the rest of the cities from Zahedan to Chabahar. Sistan and Baluchestan has a desert climate. This province has special significance in the region because of being located in a strategic and transit location. This province has unparalleled natural and historical attractions and the Chabahar port has also added to its beauty. World-renowned Shahre Sukhteh (Burnt City), one of the wonders of the ancient world, is listed as UNESCO World Heritage site.
The plain of Loot which is the largest hollow or pit in the plateau of Iran, Martian mountains, Hamoon Lake, Saam Castle, Teimoor Castle, Ladiz Village, Zahedan Great Museum, Berasan Entertainment Complex in Zahedan, Makki Mosque, Chabahar Port, Darak port &... are the most spectacular places in this province. The most important handicrafts in the province are wickerwork, pottery, needlework, embroidery with coin and carpet weaving.
