The small Italian island of Capri is situated 5 km from the mainland in the Bay of Naples, a celebrated beauty spot and coastal resort since the days of the Roman Republic until now. Capri, known in Greek mythology as the isle of the sirens, was a favored resort of the Roman emperors.

 

 

 

 

 

Capri is definitely one of the most favorite places in Italy also today, and is famed for its rugged landscape, upscale hotels and exciting shopping experiences, from designer fashions to special native beverages and handmade leather sandals. In summer, Capri attracts many tourist for its beautiful beaches and incredible boat rides.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

One of Capri's best-known natural sites is the Blue Grotto, a dark cavern where the sea glows electric blue, the result of sunlight passing through an underwater cave.

 

 

 

 

From April to the end of the summer, the island also comes to life from an artistic and cultural point of view. Concerts are organized almost every evening in the squares or the splendid villas built by Emperor Tiberius, as well as painting and sculpture exhibitions, plays and dance performances.
