Capilano Suspension Bridge Park, Canada

Originally built in 1889, Capilano Suspension Bridge stretches 137m across and 70m above Capilano River in Vancouver, Canada. The bridge can hold up to 96 full grown elephants. The park offers more than just the bridge. Its surrounding 27 acres celebrate nature, history and culture in unique and thrilling ways. CLIFFWALK is the park’s newest attraction follows a precipice along Capilano River on a labyrinth-like series of narrow cantilevered bridges, stairs and two glass platforms through rainforest vegetation. Cliffwalk hangs for 213m and reaches 91m high.

Treetops Adventure is a series of seven suspension bridges attached to eight 250 years old Douglas-firs with viewing platforms, reaching up to 110 feet above the forest floor. Built in 2004, the innovative and award-winning Treetops Adventure was designed to accommodate the continuous growth of the trees. The viewing platforms are attached to an innovative tree collar system that is adjustable and moveable and has no nails or bolts penetrating into the Douglas-firs. These magnificent Douglas firs will be the eight tallest Christmas trees in the world! From late November to late January, Capilano strings holiday lights around the canyon and decorates the world’s tallest living Christmas tree.

Guided nature tours and the Kids’ Rainforest Explorer Program are some of the Vancouver activities that enhance this unique rainforest encounter. Recognized for extraordinary innovation with national and provincial tourism and engineering awards, a walk on Treetops Adventure has emerged as one of Vancouver’s quintessential activities.
