Hitachi Seaside Park, Japan
Hitachi Seaside Park is located on the Pacific Ocean side of the Japanese coast, and incorporates a unique natural environment of sand dunes, forests, grasslands and springs. With a total space of 350 hectares, of which 200 hectares are open to the public, this huge spacious park is home to a variety of colorful flowers and grasses throughout the four seasons, as well as numerous other attractions, including an amusement park, large grassland, cycling and BMX tracks, a forest athletics field, BBQs surrounding by nature, and many cafes and restaurants.
The park is best known for two flowers, Nemophila (a.k.a. Baby blue eyes) during spring, and Kochia (a.k.a. summer cypress or burning bush) during autumn.
32,000 Kochia balls are planted at the Miharashi Hill. They gradually turn their color from green to red from July to October. At the peak season, there will be an event “Kochia Carnival” held at the park annually for about a month from mid-September to mid-October.
The multicolored tulip world is in a gorgeous atmosphere in the Egg Forest. About 260 varieties, 270,000 cute and colorful tulips are in full bloom and invite you to the fairy tale world with a windmill.
