Ice Canyon, Greenland

Ice Canyon or Greenland’s Grand Canyon is probably the most photographed place in Greenland. The name Ice Canyon best describes the place. The Canyon is actually a huge pit buried underneath the ice sheet. This majestic canyon, artfully carved by nature itself – formed by meltwater. It is one of the places where you can enjoy the amazing scenes of water flowing deep through giant icebergs.
The Ice Canyon runs from the central region of the island and into the Arctic Ocean. According to the latest research, the canyon helps transport water from the melting of the glacier to the ice sheet into the ocean. Best time to visit the place is between May and July when it is snowing and everything is not frozen immensely over there.
