The Borujerdi House, Kashan, Iran
The Borujerdi House is one of the most famous historical monuments of the city of Kashan, located in the southeast of this city. This building was built in the second half of the 13th Hegira century (19th A.D) and is part of Iran’s national monuments list. The Borujerdi House is an example of a grandee residential house of the Qajar period in Kashan.
In addition, this historic house has been selected for the popularity of the tourist attractions as the premier selection of UNESCO in 2015 and 2016.
The Borujerdi House is built in an area of approximately 1,700 square meters and has an area of 3000 square meters including two inner and outer courtyards. This house is designed and constructed in accordance with the climatic and continental conditions of Kashan’s desert region so that in the heat of the summer, natural and permanent cool and pleasant air flows through the wind towers which are located on the roof, into the house and the basements.
The Borujerdi House is constructed on 3 floors and around a 620 square meter yard. This house consists of various parts such as an alcove, a belvedere, an entrance porch, a cellar and verandas for the summer and winter seasons.
