Gardens by the Bay, Singapore
Gardens by the Bay is a huge, colorful, futuristic park in the bay area of Singapore. This multi-award winning horticultural destination spans 101 hectares of reclaimed land, and is made up of two main areas; Bay South Garden and Bay East Garden.
Measuring between 25 and 50 meters tall, Gardens by the Bay's award-winning manmade “Super Trees” are designed with large canopies that provide shade in the day and come alive with an exhilarating display of lights and sounds at night. By strolling along OCBC Skyway, which connects 2 of these towering super trees you can get an up-close look at the garden.
The other attraction of the garden is the flower dome. It is the largest glass greenhouse in the world as listed in the 2015 Guinness World Records. Flower Dome showcases exotic plants from five continents which are displayed in nine different Gardens.
The Gardens’ calendar; filled with signature festivals, music concerts and movie screenings, sports and community events, and educational workshops and school programs, draw a wide spectrum of visitors to the Gardens.
Gardens by the Bay has earned numerous awards and accolades including the World Building of the Year in 2012, the President’s Design Award (Singapore) in 2013, the Outstanding Achievement Award by the Themed Entertainment Association in 2014, the Largest Glass Greenhouse (Flower Dome) in the Guinness World Records for 2015, and the TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence in 2016.
