Deep Dive Dubai is verified by the Guinness World Record as the world's deepest swimming pool, at a depth of 60.02 meters and holds 14 million liters of water. That, the owners say, is the equivalent of six Olympic-sized swimming pools. This facility is an investment in Dubai's growing sports culture and will add another world-class destination to Dubai's thriving tourist attraction.
Deep Dive Dubai is now open and offering a variety of experiences including a vast underwater city, discovery dives for first timers, scuba dives, freedives as well as diving courses and workshops on all levels of diving from beginner to technical instructors. Beyond the pool itself, the facility is also home to a dive shop, gift shop, an 80-seat restaurant that is set to open to the public later this year, as well as a variety of meeting, event, and conference spaces.
The underwater city, which are brought alive with state-of-the-art sound and light systems, include an ersatz abandoned apartment building, waterlogged cars, a subaquatic library, and even an arcade with a working foosball table. According to Deep Dive Dubai, the graffiti-covered forsaken city is so massive that it can only be fully explored over the course of several dives. There is also a pair of air-filled “dry rooms” at roughly 20 and 69 feet that can be accessed during the descent. There is no living marine life.
The pool's water is ultra-clean thanks to its filtration system that circulates water every six hours through siliceous volcanic rock, NASA-developed filter technology, and UV radiation. The pool’s temperature is kept at a comfortable 30 degrees centigrade.
